Vehicle Maintenance
The Vehicle Maintenance Division is responsible for an extensive variety of services within the Village of Gurnee. Such services include, but are not limited to, the maintenance, service, and repair of approximately 200 vehicles and pieces of equipment. Additionally, the division monitors and performs preventative maintenance on all Village equipment, coordinates outsourced repairs, prepares new vehicles for duty, repairs damage caused by extensive use of equipment, and disposes and replaces surplus equipment. The Division works with other Village departments to write bid specifications for replacement vehicles and equipment. The Division secures titles and licensing of vehicles, monitors and maintains an inventory of fuel, lubricants, and commonly used repair parts, and maintains the Village's fuel dispensing system.
