Accident Reports
Accident reports are available on-line, in-person, and by mail.
In-Person: Copies of accident reports available for window pickup during the following hours: Monday-Fridays from 9:00am-5:00pm at the Gurnee Police Station (100 N. O'Plaine Road, Gurnee).
By Mail: For those unable to come by the station, please send a self addressed stamped envelope to the Gurnee Police Department, 100 N. O'Plaine Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. Requests should include: name of driver, date of accident, location of accident, case and accident number. Requests for copies generally take 3 to 5 working days and a minimum fee of $5 will apply.

Steps for Obtaining an Accident Report on BuyCrash.com
Step 1: Click here to get to the BuyCrash.com website.
Step 2: Select the state of Illinois from the first drop-down list.
Step 3: Select the law enforcement agency that took your report from the 2nd drop-down list. Select Next.
Step 4: Enter your search criteria on the next page.
Step 5: Don't forget to check "I'm not a robot" before clicking the Next button.
Step 6: Click the Add to Cart button for the desired report(s) then click the Checkout button.
Step 7: Fill in the credit card information and click the "Place Order Now" button.
Step 8: Click "Download Crash Report" button to view your report.
BuyCrash charges a nominal convenience fee for this service which is added to the cost of the report. Citizens who do not wish to pay the convenience fee can still come to the police station during business hours and pay the normal report fee if they wish.
