Garbage and Recycling Collection

Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) is the Village's contractor for waste collection services including garbage, recycling, and yard waste and operates under a franchise hauling agreement. Click here to view Lakeshore Recycling Systems Contract Pricing. In conjunction with LRS and SWALCO (Solid Waste Agency of Lake County), the Village offers a variety of disposal and recycling programs in order to meet residents needs.

Please note: Unincorporated residents defined by street numbers with 5 digits and residents who pay their homeowners association directly for waste collection services are not part of the Village of Gurnee's waste hauling contract. Regarding services, unincorporated residents should contact the Warren Township at 847-244-1101, and residents who pay their HOA for waste collection services should reach out to their property manager or HOA.

Reporting Garbage or Recycling Issues
If residents are having issues with garbage or recycling collection, they should first contact Lakeshore Recycling Systems first to make sure there are no account issues or other notes. Residents can do this by logging into their LRS account at www.lrsrecycles.com or by calling 844-633-3577. Please have your account number ready.

If LRS is not able to assist you with your issue, the Village of Gurnee will work with LRS to help ensure your needs as a customer are met. You can report issues with LRS by calling Village Hall at 847-599-7500. You can also view the full contract here: Lakeshore Recycling Systems Residential Contract 2024 - 2029.
