The Village has received notice that over the next few days, a North Shore Gas approved contractor from MZI will be upgrading meters in the Gurnee area on behalf of North Shore Gas. The contractor will have a badge with both the MZI Group, Inc. and North Shore Gas logo. They are installing a transmitter device that will allow North Shore Gas to remotely read the gas meter every month and the install should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. In order to install the new device, they will need access to the meter. Customers do not have to be home or present for the work to be performed. However, as a courtesy, upon arrival the contractor will knock on the customer’s door to announce their arrival and leave a door hanger to notify when they are done.
