Storm Damage - Curbside Branch & Brush Cleanup

Beginning on Monday, August 16th, Gurnee Public Works crews will begin to collect and dispose of large branches damaged during the recent storms. Residents are urged to place storm related brush they would like collected at the curb by Monday, August 16th at 7:00 a.m. Branches should be manageable in size for the safety of workers and placed in orderly piles with cut ends facing the street unbundled. Please be sure the debris is not obstructing the street or sidewalk. A chipping crew will be working throughout the Village to remove brush and crews will make only one pass through each subdivision. It is NOT necessary to call the Village to report brush that is ready to be collected. The Village will post periodic updates on the website (www.gurnee.il.us) regarding progress of the program.

This program is intended for brush that typically would not be eligible for the Waste Management bundled branch program. Residents should bundle sticks and twigs as they normally would for collection by WM on your regular pick-up day

Following the initial pass through the Village, residents with debris remaining will be required to make arrangements on their own or through a private contractor to remove branches or trees that missed the collection or are too large to be chipped by Gurnee Public Works. Crews will not return to an area that was previously collected. Public Works crews also will not enter private property to remove branches or fallen trees.

For any questions related to branch pick up, please contact the Public Works Department at 847-599-6800 during regular business hours (M-F 7AM-3PM).
