Media Release - Retail Theft

On December 30, 2019, at approximately 10:55 AM, officers responded to a report of a retail theft at the 6500 block of Grand Avenue. 

A male subject entered the store and requested to see jewelry from the display.   During a consultation with the sales associate, the suspect took the merchandise and ran from the store.   He did not make any threats to the sales associates, and there were no signs of a weapon.  The estimated value of the merchandise is $50,000. 

Officers responded to the area and set up a perimeter while utilizing a K9 from the Lake County Sheriff's Office to assist with tracking the suspect.  It was ultimately determined the suspect left in a vehicle.

The suspect was a black male wearing a tan hat, tan Carhartt jacket, blue jeans, and tan shoes.   He is missing a front, upper left tooth.
