Top 10 of 2018: #4 Chief Woodside Announces Retirement

Gurnee Police Chief Kevin Woodside announced his retirement that will be effective January 1st, 2019. He has served the Gurnee Police Department for 30 years and has served as the Gurnee Police Chief since July 2011. Chief Woodside has had numerous achievements during his time as Chief, with some including the creation of annual Youth Police Academy and Police Explorer Post, implementation of Body-Worn Cameras and TASERS, establishing the Visitor Oriented Police Team and many more achievements. Deputy Chief Brian Smith will serve as the Interim Police Chief when Chief Woodside steps down.
