In February 2018, the Village of Gurnee approved a plan to support the relocation of Alpha Media and four radio stations (102.3 XLC, 1220 WKRS,1050 WLIP, and 95.1 WIIL ROCK) to Gurnee Mills. Coming in early 2020, shoppers will be able to see live radio on-air broadcasting in the new space located near Floor & Décor.As a part of the plan Alpha Media has also committed to at least 32 annual events at the Mall which will boost foot traffic and sales tax revenue. In addition, the Village will receive radio promotion to help advertise Gurnee to a wide range of listeners. Full operations are expected to begin in early 2020.
