DES PLAINES RIVER LEVEL UPDATE APRIL 22, 2026: The river is currently at 9.59 ft. and continues to recede. Grand and Old Grand Avenue has been reopened. Emerald Avenue, the west end of McClure Avenue, Kilbourne Road between Grand Avenue and Route 41 and Emerald Avenue remain closed. Village staff will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

LRS will provide free unlimited yard waste collection for residents who do not pay an HOA for service during the weeks beginning April 20 and April 27. Yard waste must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on your pickup day and set out in kraft paper bags, rigid cans, or bundled brush that meets size and weight limits.
