Restore Illinois Phase 3: Re-Opening of Outdoor Dining and More
• Restaurants: Just in time for summer, outdoor dining will be allowed! State and public health guidance must be followed. Village guidelines have been updated to temporarily expand outdoor seating areas while protecting patron safety. Current liquor licensees will be allowed to offer table-service liquor with outdoor dining; outdoor bars will not be allowed. Consistent with State Liquor Control Commission guidance, carryout/delivery of liquor is permitted to continue for now.
• Retail: All retail stores may reopen to in-person shopping, following Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) precautions and with capacity limits in place.
• Personal Care Services and Health Clubs: Personal care establishments such as salons and barber shops may reopen with IDPH precautions and capacity limits in place. Fitness facilities may offer outdoor classes of up to 10 people and provide one-on-one personal training indoors.
• Recreation: Golf courses, including Bittersweet Golf Club, will now be able to accommodate foursomes and carts with limitations; tennis, camping, boating, and other ways to enjoy the great outdoors are also welcome additions for summer.
Our COVID-19 Business Assistance Page offers helpful information to businesses, and includes free signage and other aisle markings to prepare for Phase 3 of re-opening. These resources are available at: https://www.gurnee.il.us/business/small-business-covid-19-assistance-information
Prioritizing health and safety (face coverings, social distancing, sanitation) is now a consumer expectation and will be a key component of our recovery. Building confidence-based loyalty is a shared goal.
We ask that all residents and businesses continue to do their part and comply with the requirements of social distancing and wearing face coverings when required. We want our customers and visitors to have confidence that Gurnee is the safest and best place to shop and dine.
