Premise Alert Program
On August 28, 2009, the Illinois Premise Alert Program (Public Act 96-0788) was enacted, allowing individuals with special needs or disabilities, or their guardians,  to provide personal information to Public Safety Agencies in the State of Illinois for emergency dissemination to police, fire, and EMS personnel.

Red Light Camera Enforcement Program
Beginning in May 2009, the Village of Gurnee Police Department will implement automated traffic law enforcement systems, more commnly known as Red Light Cameras. These systems are designed to make community roads safer and reduce serious traffic crashes by addressing red light running. If you are a a resident of Gurnee who will be out of town for a period of four (4) days to three (3) weeks, you may request that the Gurnee Police Department conduct periodic checks on your home while you are away. Click here for more information or to download a request form.

Our Children, Parties, and the Law (PDF)
Parents and caretakers of young people ages 10-17 are encouraged to read this Gurnee Police Department pamphlet to stay informed about what you can do now to prepare for the pressures that your sons or daughters may encounter from their peers. Appropriate guidelines and support from parents help young people withstand these pressures.

Neighborhood Watch Section Added
The Gurnee Police Department works closely with Neighborhood Watch groups as part of efforts aimed at safety and crime prevention. A new page has been added as a starting point for information tailored to Neighborhood Watch participants.

Overview of the Gurnee Police Department
The Gurnee Police Department provides services to the community 24 hours per day. Your Police department is active in community oriented policing and problem-solving, with efforts in areas such as; traffic and DUI enforcement, crime prevention, D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), neighborhood watch, gang prevention, and youth assistance programs.

The department is headed by the Chief of Police and two Deputy Chiefs and includes 66 sworn and 27 civilian personnel.

The communications center is staffed around the clock and provides Enhanced 9-1-1 service to residents along with radio dispatching, alarm monitoring, and other communications functions.

The Police Department is located at 100 N. O'Plaine Road.
